A woman under the Mosaic law was bound to her husband as long as he lived, but she was free to marry again after he died. The law as the guiding principal for our relationship with God was put to death when Jesus died on the cross and rose again. Believers are now free from the law and have been joined to Christ to live by God's grace and love.
