Self-seeking a like a drunkard ruining a edding ceremony. To see the glory of Christ is to be sobered up from self0senteredness. The very start of Christianity requires a radical change. It requires following Jesus to death to self, and physical death if necessary. Jesus becomes more valuable to you than your own life. If this is not true, you are heading in the opposite direction. To avoid commitment to Christ is not to save your life but to lose it. But losing your life is the actual salvation of it. Imagine a man who literally owns the entire world. How rich is he is he does not inherit a portion in the world to come- This is a call, a promise, and a warning.
