For our last bread service of the year, we looked at the first guys that heard the news about Jesus being born on Sunday... some outcast shepherds and astrologers from Persia... i.e. probably not your first pick of witnesses in 1st century Judea. We bring so much of our own experiences and understanding to this story (as well as the rest of the gospel) - our brains are just wired to do that! So we tried to take a moment to step outside of our upbringings and programming, and all the busyness of the season, and receive again the love of the Father.
