Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Messiah, the Savior of the world. As born-again believers in Christ we have been commissioned by Jesus Himself to share the good news, the Gospel, with others and invite them to receive Him as their Lord & Savior. It is known as The Great Commission. Listen as we look at what exactly is the Gospel & how can we be empowered to do our part in fulfilling the Great Commission!

The Gospel:
God came to earth as a man named Jesus. He lived a perfect, sinless life, went to the cross and poured out his life’s blood as the payment for all our sins, past, present & future. He died and rose again with the promise of salvation for us.
Everyone who comes to Christ and puts their faith Him, acknowledging their need for forgiveness, receives this free gift of salvation by faith and will go to heaven when they die – to be with Him for all of eternity.

The bad news:
Romans 3:10 – Nobody is righteous.
Romans 3:23 – All have sinned.
Romans 6:23 – The wages of (payment for) sin is death.
The good news: God loves you. He always has and He always will.
Romans 5:8 – But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
What to do:
Romans 10:9-10 Believe in Christ for forgiveness and salvation. Then confess Him as Lord of your life.
Romans 10:13 Call on the Name of the Lord – and you will be saved and forgiven of every sin you’ve ever committed.
Then invite them to pray to receive Christ.
Sample salvation prayer:
“Dear God, I know I have sinned and I know that I am not
able to save myself. I need a savior. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross, died and was resurrected as payment for my sin. I receive what He did as payment in full for my sins of the past, present and future. I ask You to save my soul and come into my life and live and take me to heaven when I die to be with you for eternity. Thank you, God. Amen.”
