In our day, we choose names mostly based on family connections or how a name sounds, or has the least offensive potential nicknames, etc. But, in Biblical days, names were intentional, given to communicate something significant. Let's look at the Christmas story and look at the various names Mary and Joseph were told to call Jesus.
