After transfer to the Christie Hospital in Manchester, a bone marrow biopsy diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, and she began chemotherapy immediately, including intensive care stays and multiple transfusions. Now 19, she has finished chemotherapy, is studying criminology at Manchester Metropolitan University, and continues follow-up checks, including an assessment of potential fertility impacts.
