Jesus, together with his earthly parents, Mary and Joseph, became refugees, having to flee for their lives into Egypt where they found safety. From Bethlehem to Egypt to Galilee and finally to Nazareth, very early on in his earthly life, the Lord Jesus experienced what so many others in our world have in becoming a displaced person and refugee. In so doing, Jesus identifies with all who are refugees and exiles - and we are all that because of our sin. Jesus came to bring us home and reunite us with our heavenly Father.
