My friends, today’s podcast is about the Baptism of Jesus. This Feast ends the Christmas season, and also marks the first week in ordinary time. My song, ‘With You I Am Well Pleased’, is about Jesus being baptized, and is also based on Holy Scripture. Three of the four Holy Gospel Writers, Matthew, Mark and Luke, wrote about, “The Baptism of Jesus.” These stories from the Holy Bible is what stirred my thoughts, and my soul filled with so much joy as this song, ‘With You I Am Well Pleased’, was coming alive inside me. John the Baptist starts this song with him proclaiming that he baptize with water, but that one more powerful than he will come, the straps of whose sandals he is not worthy to untie. Then John Baptized Jesus in the Jordan. And as a Dove, the Spirit rested on Jesus. A voice came from Heaven, and said, ‘You are my Son whom I love, with You I am well pleased. As soon as Jesus came up out from the water, He saw the heavens being torn open.’ And this my friends, is how our song was created. Amen.
