In 2017, Christopher Mikkelsen was selected as Social Entrepreneur of The Year by the World Economic Forum and the Schwab Foundation. In 2016 he was selected as one of the 25 most daring individuals in America by editors of Condé Nast, WIRED Magazine, Vanity Fair and more.
Christopher Mikkelsen founded REFUNITE in 2008 based on the personal experience of trying to reconnect a young Afghan refugee with his family. REFUNITE’s pioneering and disruptive approach to humanitarian innovation has been featured in international media, such as TIME, The Economist, The BBC, WIRED, The Huffington Post, The Guardian, Forbes, National Geographic and more.
