New York Times Best Selling Author Dr. Christopher Ryan has been a big influence in my life. His Groundbreaking book Sex At Dawn: How We Mate, Why We Stray & What it Means For Modern Relationships came out in 2010 and I have been following his work ever since.

 

There may not be anyone alive today who has impacted my thinking more than Chris. His podcast Tangentially speaking is one of the best podcasts out. With a powerhouse combination of superb storytelling, guest interviews, and thought-provoking rants, Christopher Ryan is my kinda dude.  

 

Drawing upon his multi-cultural experience, Christopher’s research focused on trying to distinguish the human from the cultural. His doctoral dissertation analyzes the prehistoric roots of human sexuality and was guided by the world-renowned psychologist, Stanley Krippner.

 

His new book Civilized to Death: The Price Of Progress counters the idea that progress is inherently good, arguing that the “progress” defining our age is analogous to an advancing disease. - In this episode we touch on these ideas and riff back and forth on what is going on in our modern times and if there is anything we can do to grab hold of the wheel and turn the ship before it hits the iceberg.
