Andy 909 and Philophonic host the electronic music broadcast live, every Saturday from 9pm -12am EST. You can catch the live stream on WPVC’s website or check out the archives on Andy909’s Mixcloud account. Episode 51.1 of Chromacast is the rebroadcast of Jeff Devoe’s set, covering some tech house, techno, and progressive house, featuring tracks from Franky Wah, Chus & Ceballos, Oscar L, Derrick Carter & Denney, and John Monkman, just to name a few. Also, the Chromacast crew started making music as ManIsMetaphor and we’re debuting our first track titled "Amygdala" in this mix!

Placebo eFx is a brand new melodic techno and progressive house duo based in Los Angeles. Made up of Jason Miller (who produces great tech and progressive house under Redux Saints) and Stuart Murphy (who produces hard hitting tech house under Lok N Key), Placebo eFx aim to bring emotion back with their world-class production and songwriting sensibility. For episode 50 Jeff Devoe was able to sit down and talk with Jason Miller about their motivations for Placebo eFx, production tips & techniques, and where Placebo eFx plans to take their music. Jason also shared plans for his new upstart record label Deep Tech Los Angeles (DTLA) and the role Placebo eFx will have in it. Placebo eFx also provided us with an exclusive DJ mix that rides a dynamic, emotive wave and showcases much of their original music. It was an honor to have them on Chromacast. Placebo eFx are definitely ones to watch!

Apostolos Iatrou, also known as Halaros, was born in Greece in the late '80s. At a very young age, he discovered his passion for electronic music and computers, and started DJing at parties & festivals in 2003. The idea of electronic music production was conceived in 2009 after a festival he had attended and madethe decision to start his own music career. He is a self-taught musician, and in 2014 decided to make a turn to house music with the solo project Halaros & the duo project AVenss.

Mostly influenced by the genres of Deep Progressive House, Deep House, Deep Techno, and even Electronica & Ambient. He likes to produce and remix tracks for various record labels and he already has some good releases on the following records labels: Electronic Tree, Massive Harmony Records, Vudeux Records, Soundteller Records, 3xA Music, Inmost Records, Beat Block Records, WaitAudio, Hot Cue Music, Suffused Music, Cloudy Moon Records and more.

Since 2016 he is spinning his monthly radio show "Valia Calda Project" on Progressive Beats Radio.

Frank Serin is a young Peruvian DJ/Producer, he started at age 18 publishing his first single called "La sonrisarisa de la mujer" that is how his music began to be placed on labels like Chapter 24 Records, Blankhaus, Puzl Records among others.

Influenced by sounds from techno and house and his more experimental state have led him to find his own sound.

Likewise he has made remixes and collaborations with some artists around the world, who have supported him considerably in electronic music.

Our friend lotophage is back with a 2-hour mix for the Drum & Bass heads. From the man himself:

"Over the years, I've amassed a significant collection of music that exists just outside the boundaries of mainstream Drum & Bass. The problem I've had with these tunes has always been "These are great! When will I ever use them?". The solution was simple (or so I thought), "I'll just throw them all together in one mix!". If you've heard my mixes before, you probably know that I like to base them around themes. What kind of theme can you apply to a group of songs that seem to have nothing in common?

After tinkering around with some ideas for several weeks and getting nowhere, I found inspiration from some unexpected sources. I recently re-read Sandman by Neil Gaiman and one character in particular has always intrigued me... Delirium. Her moments of clarity and insight while being enveloped in madness helped me create the underlying theme I was envisioning for this mix. I also acquired a couple of paintings by a local LA artist, Audrey Kawasaki, that are these burlesque inspired, vintage circus posters. These helped show me that while the tunes I included were very diverse and unlike the others, there was still a place for them in the story. I hope you have as much fun listening to this mix as I did putting it together. Venez l'expérience du Délire Fantastique!"

Jeff Devoe is a Los Angeles based electronic music producer. He released drum and bass under Devoe from 2004-2008 with Relentless Audio, a local LA based label started by himself, Dj Kingpin (also from Chromacast!), and Direct Feed.

From 2009-2014 he released electro house as 1/2 of Oh Shit! Oh Shit! performed a semi-live dj set featuring live vocals from Sean Adams (lead) and Jeff Devoe (backup). All of Oh Shit!’s music can still be found on Beatport and will still shake your ass!

More recently Jeff Devoe has become involved with Los Angeles Music Project (LAMP) and Puzl Records, releasing house and techno with them. He is also 1/3 of Chromacast, and 1/3 of the trio that was born of Chromacast: Man Is Metaphor.

Flipped to progressive house and global club culture in 2005 after feeling DnB had reached its creative pinnacle, making a pilgrimage to Ibiza every few years. Stopped playing out professionally in 2008, but never stopped mixing and being involved in dance culture.
