After the persecution of the Christians in Jerusalem following the martyrdom of Stephen, the first Christians spread throughout the villages and towns surrounding Jerusalem, bringing the saving Faith with them. During this time, the Deacon Philip evangelized the Samaritans, and various other local Churches began to form around the world.
