For a Christian, is church OPTIONAL?

In other words, do you really need to be part of a church family? Why or why not?

Spoiler Alert: Yes, Christians need the church. In God's economy, it was created with their benefit in mind - in order to give hurting, broken people a sense of unity and family with other believers. It is also a place where we do things corporately that God hasn't asked us to do privately (such as partake in the sacraments).

With that said, some of us have had bad experiences in churches. So have been hurt or disappointed. For others, there may be logistical reasons that appear to hamper or prohibit church engagement. We'll talk about these things and more in today's study from Acts 2.
