Joanie Laurer, better known as Chyna, came to prominence at the rise of the WWF's Attitude Era in 1997, becoming the promotion's first female enforcer in D-Generation X. She was a two-time WWF Intercontinental Champion and a one-time WWF Women's Champion. She left the company in 2001, after which she wrestled sporadically until 2011. She died of an accidental drug overdose in 2016 at the age of 46.
