The movie Cinderella is a classic, but it's also sexist and does nothing to help close the wage gap for young girls, and here's why.
One of the main problems with this film is that Cinderella doesn't fight back against her stepmother and stepsisters. There are many ways she could have fought back without using violence or magic, for example by talking to the king about how they were treating her. She never tried to stand up for herself in any way. This sends a message that women should just put up with mistreatment from other people because there isn't anything you can do about it anyway. It's not like she was living in an oppressive country where she couldn't speak out against injustice, she lived in a palace!

If you want your kids to learn positive values instead of negative ones, don't let them watch this sexist film! Instead go see something else at the movies or rent one of these films on Amazon Prime instead - Inside Out, Braveheart, Sense, and Sensibility
