An unknown (and unexplained) hysteria grips the world, and parents turn on their biological offspring in an attempt to permanently ground them…like 6 feet under the ground. That is to say, parents are killing their kids. We find mid-life-crisis-mode DAD (Nicholas Cage) and fearful pre-empty-nester MOM (Selma Blair) on the verge of smacking their kids around. But as the hysteria spreads, Mom and Dad trap their two children, girl on the cusp of womanhood CARLY and young whipper snapper JOSH in the basement. It’s an all-out war between the generations as they burn, buzzsaw and bomb each other for the ultimate prize – survival! And don’t worry, there doesn’t seem to be any love lost... because whatever causes them to do this, appears to just bring out the awful that is already inside of them.
