Honi was a Jewish eccentric, living outside the walls of Jerusalem in the last century before Christ. When a severe drought plagued the region, people finally resorted to him to pray for rain. He drew a slow and deliberate circle in the dirt, knelt down and prayed a powerful prayer to God to send relief. The rain came and his bold prayer was answered.
