In this episode I talk about a medical procedure I had as a child in which the doctor opened my vagina using his hands because my vagina was not “open enough” according to him. The condition is called vaginal agenisis. It was very traumatic for me and I had to heal from the experience later in life. 

Then I get into a discussion about circumcision and how it creates a traumatic event in men. 

Part two of the episode is all about being an active participant in your healthcare, and how it is okay to say no to the doctor if something they suggests makes you feel uncomfortable. You can read more about my thoughts on this here on my blog.
