Greg and Dan chat with Cindy Youngren, President of the Kiwanis Club of Peoria, about the return of the club’s signature event, “Citizen of the Year.” After a hiatus since 2018, the event is back and better than ever. Cindy explains the highly confidential process used to select the honoree, keeping the suspense alive until the big night.

The Kiwanis Club has also seen exciting growth, now boasting 74 members. This year’s Citizen of the Year dinner will take place at Lariat Steakhouse, with dinner starting at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27th. Guests can purchase tickets at the door, but must reserve seats in advance through the Kiwanis Club Facebook page.

In addition, the club is preparing for another community favorite - the Annual Peoria Kiwanis Fish Fry. The event is set for Thursday, September 11th from 4:30–7:30 PM at Kelleher’s Irish Pub & Eatery. For just $15, attendees can enjoy delicious food, live music, raffles, and a great atmosphere.
