Daniel 1:8 says: “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.”

This is exactly what Daniel and three of his friends did, when king Nebuchadnezzar offered them a food from his table.

Why on earth would they decline these royal delicacies?

Was it because of their flavour palate?

Or was there more to it?
