This week we being our dive into the remaining verses of 1 Peter chapter 1. After we began last week with a brief introduction, my favorite verse (1 Peter 5:12) and why then finishing with the first 5 verses of the opening chapter we are ready to begin.
I have changed up the format just a bit because it is very very very important for you to read and re-read this book. Instead of going line by line I have put in bullet points. they are as follows:
Living as an Alien in Enemy Land
6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,
7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
9 obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.
(1 Peter 1:6–9)
Many Kings and Prophets Desired
10 As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries,
11 seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.
12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look.
(1 Peter 1:10–12)
Ambassadors are to Live in Accordance too the Country They are From
1 Peter 1:13-25
I don't have the character space to put the text in. Please follow along. I use the NASB 1995 edition.
There is no other book which I believe give as much insight and instruction for the daily Christian life as 1 Peter. May the LORD richly bless and equip you in HIS Word and that for HIS glory.
Grace and peace to all who are in CHRIST JESUS the LORD!
