A report has revealed that the Story Bridge is in disarray and a toll could soon be reintroduced to fund its restoration.

Brisbane City Council’s Labor Opposition Leader Jared Cassidy told Bill McDonald, "Obviously support the federal government and state government stepping in here to provide funding in a very immediate sense because it has to be done."

"This is now panic stations in saving the Story Bridge, but I really don't think council should be allowed to manage it."

"I don't think the Lord mayor should be allowed to touch this project going forward," Cassidy continued.
