With Representative Eileen Cody deciding not to seek a 15th term, new leadership is coming to the 34th district that includes West Seattle, Pioneer Square, and Vashon Island. Voters will choose between affordable housing advocate Emily Alvarado, who used to work for the Seattle Office of Housing, and Leah Griffin, a school librarian who has helped to create state and federal policies on sexual assault.
