There are further claims that the ESB network in the North West is not fit for purpose.
It comes as a meeting between local representatives and Semi-State Organisations and Utility Providers over the aftermath of Storm Eowyn is underway in Sligo today.
It’s thought that there has been a major lack of investment in the network across the region, while there’s also concern surrounding unexplained outages and the length of time it takes for power to be restored.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Paul Taylor says there must be better collaboration between relevant bodies going forward to ensure that disruption is minimised in any future storm:
