We are back for a new series! I am joined by Eric Mathews and Jim Wallace to talk through all the key EC related things that have happened since we last put out an episode. Amongst other things, we mark the passing of Jeff Beck and Robbie Robertson, celebrate the recent 24 Nights reissue, talk about EC and the telecaster, contemplate £2500 for 2 guitar picks and look ahead to imminent dates and releases.
I have finally got to episode 6! In this solo episode I take a look at Slowhand on its 45th birthday. It is one of the biggest selling albums of Clapton's career and features three of his biggest hits and live staples. I look at each track and consider where it sits in his wider catalogue. It is an album with which I share a close bond but does that make it my favourite solo album? As always I welcome your thoughts through our social channels.
Once again I am joined by Eric Mathews for a review of the recent 2 night RAH run and a look at some of the shows on the European tour. We speculate on whether Eric or his management listened to episode 3 and decided to put Pilgrim back in the set after 24 years! We also discuss the hotly anticipated Nothing But The Blues release due next month - one of the most exciting EC releases for some time.
My thanks as ever to Eric Mathews for his remarkable knowledge of EC setlists and guitars and for the intro music. You can connect with him @eric_mathews_music or go listen to his band at https://open.spotify.com/artist/4MIxpRyJZQPCqHyPuFKvFc

In this episode I am joined by Eric Mathews (@eric_mathews_music) for a run through recent releases including The Lady In The Balcony album, Heart Of A Child single, the eponymous 1970 Eric Clapton album reissue and The Tedeschi Trucks Band's Layla Revisited (Live at LOCKN') album. Along the way we also discuss nuances of the EC Signature strat and which EC album we would want to hear played live in its entirety. My thanks to Eric Mathews for his time, knowledge and patience and also for the intro / outro music on this episode.
