This book explores the idea that two competing principles are shaping the world, one based on the ideas of ancient republics like Athens and Rome, and the other on a modern, imperial system like the Roman Empire. The author argues that the current state of the world is the result of a shift from the former to the latter, a process that has been driven by an elite group of individuals working to create a new world order based on globalization, financial deregulation, and the suppression of national sovereignty. The author further suggests that this new order is not truly capitalist but rather a system of self-cannibalization that is destroying the very foundations of society. The author believes that the solution to this problem lies in the resurgence of the principles of ancient republics and the creation of a multipolar world based on cooperation, economic growth, and scientific progress.
