This class will focus on those aspects of human social relations which make it possible for the human species to equip itself intellectually and emotionally to make the universe, and ourselves, increasingly happy, in Leibniz’s concept of happiness. We're talking here about the domain of Classical aesthetics, i.e., the science of Beauty and the Good: music, poetry, drama, along with the plastic arts such as painting, sculpture, and architecture.

We will mostly focus on the case of music, both because this is my specialty, and because Classical music has played such a central role in Lyndon LaRouche’s discoveries in the realm of physical economy—a realm which is governed by precisely the same principles as are embedded in creative work in the Classical domain of J.S. Bach’s Keplerian well-tempered musical domain.

During the class, Lyndon LaRouche will often be speaking for himself, via selected video and audio recordings. You will also be briefly introduced to world-renowned Classical artists who recognized LaRouche’s genius and worked closely with him on initiatives to re-ignite Classical culture amidst a wasteland of cultural pessimism and ugliness.
