Classic Land Cruisers

Yet another one of the SAS networking contacts comes on this episode to talk about his foray into cruiser ownership where he had to get a "forced upgrade" to a 1980 Fj43 with the long jump seats to accommodate his family. He has had some growing pains with it but has ended up with a 6L LS motor.

I am able to meet up with first season guest Kurt Williams who has recently had one of the best cruiser centered summers. From going to Japan and seeing the factory where the Land cruisers are made in Land Cruiser city and going to East 40 series gathering with 300 40's, 25's and BJT's, to hosting the legendary Cruiser head Sean-o from 4wd24/7 and working with Toyota USA on events for them and even driving down the African continent with EXO from YouTube.

After getting the hype for Cruise Her, a female drivers only event, held every year during Solid Axle Summit I speak with run organizer Chanette McKibbons again, this time to see how well Cruise Her did.  This year being their largest turn out to date, with 13 vehicles and 2 groups of pure female empowerment.  Even stopping at the top of the trail to share refreshing popcicles together.

For yet an other SAS episode I talk to Tim and Alicia about their experiences at Solid Axle Summit.  The first time that they came was before kids and the second time was with both of their kids.  We talk about how it is perfectly fine to be generational cruiser heads, Alicia growing up with cruisers and Tim being raised in a Toyota home. Now they have an 80, a 40 and a 60.  They are planning on bringing their kids back for more Solid Axle Summits and passing down the cruisers to their kids.
