CLASSICAL PERFORMING ARTS - EPISODE 4

This episode of The Sensitive Man celebrates classical performing arts. With the recent popularity of the web series “Winter Begonia” in China, there has been renewed interest in Peking opera.  Simon Lim seeks the opinions of some people in Singapore on this successful Chinese series.  You will also hear Simon’s interview with Nick Shen, a well-known television actor in Singapore who performs and promotes Chinese Opera through his company Tok Tok Chiang (www.toktokchiang.com) and Lao Sai Tao Yuan Teochew Opera Troupe.  Simon’s fascination with Indian classical dance leads him to speak to doctor-dancer Deva Priya Appan from Apsaras Arts (www.apsarasarts.com) about Bharatanatyam, and to engineer-dancer Sunil Sunkara about Kathak and his collaboration with IndianRaga (www.indianraga.com).
