Claims Kiwis are already backing a New Zealand First Bill that would see immigrants sign up to New Zealand values at the border.
Delegates have voted to support the Bill at the party's annual conference over the weekend.
Such a policy would require immigrants to promise to respect gender equality, all legal sexual preferences and the legality of alcohol.
New Zealand First MP Clayton Mitchell, who helped draft the Bill, told Mike Hosking the vast majority of people he has spoken to are behind it.
"The feeling that I am getting already, in less than 24 hours, is very, very positive so I think it is something New Zealanders want as a whole."
The Bill has yet to be discussed by the party's caucus.
