Imagine if you were standing before God. This could be the most frightening scenario ever do to our fallen human nature. How dirty would we feel? Now, imagine Satan himself standing next to us. His job is to accuse us before God with NO mercy. Satan is supernaturally adept at his calling.

We have just such a scenario in the third chapter of the book of Zechariah. Joshua the high priest is standing before God and Satan is right there to accuse him. And accuse him he does because Joshua is clothed in filthy rags. However, God himself speaks for Joshua. God rebukes Satan, pulls Joshua out of the fire of judgment and puts clean clothes upon him. What a salvation! Thank God we have justice fully realized in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Human beings can now rejoice in the salvation of God that is ours in Christ.
