Teachers' Supply Closet (TSC) is a nonprofit organization that provides free school supplies to teachers in the Tri-County area who work at schools where 69% or more of the students are on the free or reduced meals program.
The formulation of what is now the Teachers' Supply Closet (TSC) began in 2005 with the idea of a “free teachers' supply store” which received an overwhelming response of support from community leaders. The TSC Board was formally organized in 2006. Two prominent community service organizations, the Charleston (SC) Chapters of the Links, Incorporated and Jack & Jill of America, Incorporated eagerly embraced the idea and rendered their support by donating seed money and pledging their continued financial and volunteer support, becoming founders of the organization.
