But before telling her story, she remembers Shamony Gibson, a mother gone too soon. Shamony, eager to welcome her second born, died two weeks postpartum due to a pulmonary embolism. Featured in the documentary Aftershock, Annette shares Shamony’s story and her family’s intention to spark change so that no other family experiences this heartache.

Next, Annette discusses her experiences with breastfeeding and shares with her audience that her son went days without a bowel movement. Like any new mother with a newborn, she was concerned, but eventually found a resolution.
