Cleveland’s New Command: Mike Rutenberg Named Browns DC

The Cleveland Browns have officially selected Mike Rutenberg to serve as their new defensive coordinator, filling the vacancy left by Jim Schwartz. Rutenberg previously managed the passing game defense for the Atlanta Falcons and brings extensive experience from tenures with the Jets, Jaguars, and 49ers. He inherits a highly-ranked defensive unit featuring star players like Myles Garrett, which has consistently led the league in yardage statistics. Although the team is transitioning to a new head coach, the organization intends to maintain its existing defensive scheme and keep the core roster intact. This appointment marks the first time Rutenberg will hold a coordinator position at the professional level.
