In this episode, PA student Jackie Callinan leads a discussion with Dr. Perri Morgan PA-C, MEd, PhD, about climate change’s present and future impact on human health. Dr. Morgan is a life-long PA educator who was a Duke University Faculty Climate and Sustainability Teaching Fellow for the 2024-2025 year. The pair discuss how many aspects of climate change, including changes in temperature, air pollution, natural disasters, and water contamination, affect patients of all ages and in all specialties. Furthermore, Dr. Morgan emphasizes the role of healthcare providers in educating patients and mitigating the healthcare industry’s environmental footprint, ultimately sharing how PAs are uniquely well-suited to be leaders in healthcare’s response to climate change.
