Sometimes in the season of Advent we like to pretend as if we are still waiting for Jesus to come. We try to scrub our brains of the memory of his birth and relive the excitement again. There’s something to that. There’s value in understanding what Jesus’ birth meant in the moment. But that’s not what Advent means for you and me today, 2,000 years after Christ.
