Climind X President of IEEE: Working to Make a Difference on Climate Change

"Talks at Climind" is a thoughts-leadership podcast launched by Climind, and co-organized with leading universities, research institutions, and industry partners. The climate is a data integration issue. Our goal is to present exciting big ideas about climate data solutions, particularly in areas such as energy transition, adaptation and mitigation, carbon markets, and nature-based solutions.


Speakers: Prof. Saifur Rahman and Dr. Lai

  • Prof. Saifur Rahman is the IEEE President and founding director of the Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech, where he is the Joseph R. Loring professor of electrical and computer engineering in this episode. He also directs the Center for Energy and the Global Environment at the university. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE and an IEEE Millennium Medal winner. Additionally, he has been elected as the 2022 IEEE President-Elect and begin serving as IEEE President on January 1, 2023.


    • Dr. Lai is an Engineering Researcher at Cambridge. He earned his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Cambridge. Dr. Lai is also the president of Cambridge China Innovation Network, which is an organization that bridges the gap between academia and business in China and the UK, converting science and technology into applications.
