In this episode of the UnsCripted Podcast, Alex and Rachel sit down with Claudia Mort (UC College of Medicine Class of 2023) to discuss the benefits and proper utilization of medical interpreters in the clinical environment.  In addition to pursuing her medical degree, Claudia is also a trained medical interpreter and completed her training in this field in 2019 through "Bridging the Gap", and has served as a medical interpreter at three different clinics. 

We talk about when and why you should use a medical interpreter, the scope of practice of medical interpreters, and the "Dos and Don'ts" that providers should follow when there is a language barrier between them and their patient.
