🫂 unpopular opinion: you need different friends for different things. I’m not calling my club friend for business advice! the most important thing? they should all work together to serve the different parts of yourself.

just a little chit chat about my first couple weeks settling in to New York (1:58). I’m getting the same question over and over again. “Why did you move here?” and I’m here to say: stop asking me that sh*t! its making me nervous 👁️

making adult friendships is hard. industry friends? even harder (13:18). with social media, I know so much about my peers (sometimes more than I would like), and I think it’s blurred the lines between friend and associate. or casual friend and intimate friend. club friend vs cry on my shoulder friend. it all makes me very uneasy, and in this episode I share with everyone my philosophical thoughts on initiating, maintaining, and delegating friendship roles. 

the main question? how do we create genuine, deep rooted relationships in a world where things can stay pretty surface level and materially motivated?
