One of my professors used to say that when you witness the word “therefore,” you must stop and see why it’s ‘there for.’ the author goes on to say: “Therefore, we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” Since there are false teachers and false gospels, Christians need to know the actual content of their faith so that counterfeit versions will not seduce them.
