Some MVP voting results have been really close. In fact, the 1979 NL MVP was a tie between Willie Stargell and Keith Hernandez. A-Rod and Ken Griffey Jr. could have each won the 1996 AL MVP (at 9.4 and 9.6 WAR), but it went to Juan Gonzalez (3.8 WAR) of the division-winning Rangers.
