It can come from stress, fatigue, disappointment, or even nothing obvious at all. People in a funk often describe it as a "cloud hanging over them" or being "stuck in a fog."

In short:

• A funk is like your internal rhythm being out of tune.

• It feels heavier than a bad mood but lighter than depression.

• It's temporary, but if left unaddressed, it can linger longer than you'd like.
