Despite the Philippines being the top Asian country in terms of gender equality, the country’s political scene remains to be male-dominated. In fact, the 2019 elections saw only a few women running for office and even fewer successfully elected. With the 2022 elections drawing nearer, gender equality in Philippine politics becomes an even more pressing concern.
