Clothed in Humility Before the Lord

Listen Later

David's sins against Bathsheba and Uriah seemed hidden, yet nothing escapes the sight of God. In this sermon from 2 Samuel 12 the Lord sends Nathan the prophet to confront the king with a parable that exposes his guilt and calls him to repentance. This message traces the unfolding confrontation between Nathan and David, the confession that follows, the consequences that come upon David's household, and the mercy of God that continues His covenant purposes through the birth of Solomon. Even in the midst of judgment, the grace of God shines through as the Lord restores a repentant sinner and preserves the royal line that will ultimately lead to Christ.
