CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TALKS ABOUT #CLRM - KARMA (CLRMK)
In Buddhism, karma means intentional action driven by mental volition, functioning as a natural law of cause and effect rather than a cosmic justice system, and shaping both present habits and future rebirths
In Buddhism, wholesome actions (kusala kamma) are skillful deeds driven by good intentions that bring peace and happiness. They grow from three roots: non-attachment (generosity), benevolence (loving-kindness), and understanding (wisdom)
In Buddhism, unwholesome actions (akusala kamma) are unskillful deeds driven by the Three Poisons—greed, hatred, and delusion. These actions of the body, speech, and mind create harmful results and future suffering.
The Four Truths
Dukkha (The Truth of Suffering): Life involves pain, aging, sickness, death, and general dissatisfaction (dukkha).
Samudaya (The Origin of Suffering): Suffering comes from craving (tanha), selfish desire, and ignorance about reality.
Nirodha (The Cessation of Suffering): Suffering can stop when you let go of craving, leading to inner peace or nirvana.
Magga (The Path to Cessation):
The way to end suffering is by following the Noble Eightfold Path
Wisdom (Panna)
Right view: Knowing the true nature of life and the Four Noble Truths.
Right intention: Having a mind free from hate, bad desires, and harm.
Ethical Conduct (Sila)
Right speech: Telling no lies, no rude words, and no useless talk.
Right action:
Doing no harm, taking no life, and stealing nothing.
Right livelihood: Doing a clean job that hurts no living thing.
Mental Discipline (Samadhi)
Right effort: Working hard to stop bad thoughts and grow good ones.
Right mindfulness: Keeping a clear and steady mind on the present.
Right concentration: Practicing deep meditation to steady the spirit.
