We have spent much of  season three discussing various life experiences, and today we ponder if our increasingly digitalized world is preventing us from experiencing life to the fullest. This week, we wrap up our discussion on rites, rituals, tradition, and culture. Noah helps Becca Joy define anthropology and briefly trace its history. We then ask ourselves some of cultural anthropology's greatest questions: How are we a product of our culture? How do the people around us change who we are? How does our personal, cultural, and social histories shape our identity and behavior? What does it mean to be human and to have an identity?

Music is a universal language. It is a way for us to express our most vulnerable emotions and at the same time empower us. In the episode we talk about the emotional, psychological, physical, and social power of music. We explore this through the eyes of musical therapist, Tom Sweitzer, and his COVID-19 music therapy support group. Being bored is one of the most universally hated feelings. But the actual idea of boredom is really... strange. To continue our conversations about social media, we turn to those moments in which we find ourselves sucked into our phones. For us, that moment is when we are bored. In this episode we tackle our experiences of boredom head on: how do we overcome boredom? is boredom a social construct? are there different types of boredom? what is the different between relaxation and boredom? is boredom bad?
