Lots of activity from HHS this week. I review the proposed rule change to the Stark law which has significant impact for CMIOs. Also, HHS released a guide to help providers taper opioids that I think will be useful as a clinical decision support tool. Amazon Web Services has a new tool that can read our scanned images and convert it to discrete data, which I would give my left arm to have in my system. I wrap it up with a discussion about the under use of pneumococcal urinary antigen in the diagnosis of CAP.
