In this episode, we discuss the importance and the cautions of co-ed friendships.

Diagnostic Questions:

  • Who do you go to first when something significant (good or bad) happens?
  • Do you feel emotionally dependent on this person for support, affirmation, or comfort?
  • Would you feel jealous or replaced if they started dating someone else?
  • Are you spending more intentional one-on-one time with them than with friends of the same gender?
  • Do you regularly share personal or intimate details with this person that you don’t share with others?
  • Would you feel comfortable if your future spouse had the same kind of friendship with someone else?
  • What’s the fruit of this friendship in your life—peace, clarity, and growth? Or confusion, comparison, and frustration?
  • What would others from the outside think of your friendship?
  • Would this friendship still be appropriate if/when one person started dating someone else?
  • Are you getting the benefit of a romantic relationship from your friendship?

The Workshop exists to equip and encourage young adults to live out their faith in Jesus—in their friendships, workplaces, families, and relationships. This podcast creates space for honest conversations, biblical truth, and practical wisdom as we “workshop” what it looks like to live godly, purposeful lives in every season. Our community is for those committed to becoming more like Jesus, together.
