My name is Jonathan Paschal and I am your host. Today we will be kicking off our podcast discussing what it means to see yourself at the number one determinant of the success of our students but through the lens of coaching our leaders in education.

Introducing

It is a pleasure to welcome our guest, Dr. Jerry Oates. He has been an education for his entire career. Dr. Oates started as a teacher and it is my understanding that the leaders around him saw something in his leadership ability early. He was able to jump into an administrative role early in his career. As an assistant principal he worked through the beginning stages of his leadership to grow into a school principal. He served several schools in that role until later increasing his reach and support at the district level in Brunswick County Schools. Once again others saw his leadership ability and desire to support educators in their work with students. Dr. Oates has most recently been charged with serving as the superintendent of Brunswick County Schools.
