We are joined today by Alex @65yOld_Man for another Ls on Replay reunion episode. We got into a variety of topics, with some coaster chatter mixed in as well. We talk about the creating a rollercoaster based around the movie Click (2006), and what are the best songs to listen to while you are riding a coaster. We get into Mert’s crabbing stories and many other tales from the Delmarva Peninsula. We get into a debate about the different types of candy we enjoy and, most importantly, what is the best kind of gum to chew on while you are spending the day at the amusement park. We talk about traveling state lines to legally smoke weed in your car and how Jair Bolsonaro is enjoying his best life in Central Florida wearing basketball shorts and robes while eating at Fogo de Chão every night.

We are joined today by JL @JackPLamb for a very Midwestern driven episode about which coasters and amusement parks in the Heartland are worth going to this summer. We go over each coaster that JL has ever been on, while he gives us some stories about his past rides and trips to various parks around the region. Mert and JL compare and contrast the the different coasters that make up Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL and Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, NJ. Rollercoasters discussed in this episode include Raging Bull, American Eagle, and Flash: Vertical Velocity as well as many other Midwestern favorites. We wrap up the episode by deciding which concession stand treats rein supreme at the amusement park while JL gives us his rankings of the best and worst kinds of snacks to eat at the park.

The roller coaster off-season is soon approaching its end, which means it the perfect time to kick off our own way of celebrating. We talk about our million dollar idea of a human powered coaster which might be the next big workout craze to sweep the nation. We talk about Mert’s upcoming trip to Energylandia in Poland and breakdown the coasters that make up one of most exciting and daring parks in all of Europe. (Coasters discussed here are Hyperion, Abyssus, Zadra and many more). Last but not least we talk about the March Madness styled tournament being run at Coaster101.com (@Coaster101 on twitter) to determine which amusement park is the best one in the country. After spending sometime in LA with Rodman’s Manager, @protestantwind joins us today (in studio) to break down his thoughts and feelings about rollercoasters and our real (definitely not fake) pitch meeting with HBO about getting Coaster Chat it’s own prestige tv show. We go over different hypothetical coaster ideas that are too good to pass up and talk about the different stars of LA like Tom Cruise who might be secretly into rollercoasters. We also go over our ride on the monorail at the Getty Center and how it is just as good as riding a coaster, and the many other highlights from PW’s trip to LA like getting a free pair of sunglasses on the Venice Beach Boardwalk .

We have a full train for this one and the park is at capacity. Mert and Avery and our 3 guests go over their long awaited trip and journey to Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. We break down all of the elements and facts about the coasters we rode ( didn’t ride) that day and why Magic Mountain is the peoples park of California. We also talk for a bit about other amusement parks around the California and how they differ from Magic Mountain. We also get into an in depth and important discussion about Edgar culture and why they are a top tier group of coaster riders. We get into South New Jersey Cowboy Culture and why it is here to stay and also talk business strategies the Times Square Naked Cowboy can adopt to broaden his fanbase. Mert and Alex talk about past amusement park trips they have both taken together and the wild stories that came out of them.

Mert and Avery are back with both us taking trips to Hersheypark and and Knotts Berry Farm respectively. We introduce a new state of the art rating system of rollercoasters by judging them on a 1-5 coaster emoji scale and breakdown which of the coasters we rode were standouts among the rest. Silver Bullet and Sierra Sindwinder at Knotts are reviewed in this one. Fahrenheit, Lightning Racer and Skyrush are among the coasters reviewed by Mert in this one. 3-time returning guest Shane (@TheMonkeyJungle) joins us to talk about the magistery of director James Cameron and the steps he’s taking in making the next Avatar look as amazing as the first. We also get into how successful he would be at designing roller coasters if he ever chose to go down that path. Mert breaks down the different dreams he has been having that involve coasters including the Lunch Coaster and many more. We talk about how we need more new and innovative Roller Coaster designers in the Coaster design game and how we need someone to be the next Alan Schilke.
